The BookFest®
I’m honored to announce that I won a second award for building the website for The BookFest, the 2020 MUSE Gold Award.
The BookFest Spring 2020, first held May 9, 2020, as the LA BookFest, wins in the Event category, under Festival/Carnival.
I was the web designer and developer for this website but this honor is definitely shared with Art Director Dave Duffy as well as members of The BookFest team: A.G. Billig, Siddhi Jahagirdar, Bree Swider, and Dacey Villarreal.
The online event for book lovers and the writing community brought authors, journalists, business leaders, celebrities, and their books to the forefront in the early days of Covid and social distancing.

MUSE Awards
Under the administration of the International Awards Associate (IAA), the awards are judged by a panel of professionals, who have received accolades in international settings. IAA oversees awards and recognition programs, assembles judging panels, and sets rigorous standards for both competitions.
The 56 judges for this year’s competitions were from 22 countries. These exceptional professionals belong to leading companies in the creative and digital industry from around the world, including notable groups such as Tiago do Vale Architects, Neil Poulton Industrial Design, Icona Design, ATELIER CENTRAL, Eleven Inc., Cutwater, MUH-TAY-ZIK / HOF-FER, Grayling, Saatchi & Saatchi NY, Coley Porter Bell, and ADBRAIN Inc.
All entries are evaluated based on their respective industry standards. During blind judging, panelists look at factors such as the quality and effectiveness of concepts utilized, then they select winners from a deep pool of international submissions.
The MUSE Creative Awards are international competitions catered to professionals from the creative and design industries, who help foster new horizons for their industries. “It is our privilege, as always, to honor these remarkable individuals,” says Kenjo Ong, CEO of the competition. “They have more than earned their achievements.”
